Panel 1: Maida wrings the water out of her hijab as she takes it off. Maida: "Stupid. Like always."
Panel 2: Maida and her mum kiss each other on the cheek. Her mum doesn't get up from the couch. Maida: "How are you? Did you have a good day?" Maida's mum: "Fine, fine."
Panel 3: Maida walks over to the kitchen. Maida: "Did you go to the Hobby Market?"
Panel 4: Maida's mum: "No. Jumah didn't need any help at his stall this weekend. That's alright, my bones could use the rest. Standing all day is not my friend."
Panel 5: Maida rifles through the fridge. Maida: "...Did you look for a job today?"
Panel 6: Maida's mum leans over the top of the couch to talk to her better. Maida's mum: "Nobody's hiring, Maida! Fugees aren't allowed to be accountants, and I'm not good at anything else."
Panel 7: Maida's mum: "I know it's not much money, but working for Jumah will have to do for now. He'll have the best-kept books in the entire Hobby Market."
