Panel 2: Hansa and Toya sit down over coffee in Hansa's coffee shop at the university.
Panel 3: Xiaoping stands on a crowded train.
Panel 4: Maria looks in a mirror and smiles, looking at a new, much shorter haircut.
Panel 5: Nat sleeps in class at her cadets academy.
Panel 6: Annette talks with a hologram of Srinivasa.
Panel 7: Maida walks her bike along a closed-in street with a row of little suburban flats. It's dark. Narrator: "But I do have people here."
Panel 8: Zaynab pulls a hijab on and runs out the door of one of the flats. She's in her pyjamas. Zaynab: "Maida! Oh, Maida!"
